L’artiste Diane Borsato, basée à Toronto, discutera d’une série de projets récents dans lesquels elle a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec d’autres artistes et naturalistes amateur·trice·s. Elle a notamment coordonné des activités d’observation des étoiles et de cueillettes de champignons pour des champignonneur·eus·s et des astronomes amateur·trice·s (𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭/𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭, 2010), une performance regroupant 100 apiculteu·trice·s silencieux·euses et immobiles (𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘛𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳, 𝘔𝘺 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 2013) et la plantation de pommiers donnant forme à un rare verger communautaire en tant qu’art public (𝘖𝘙𝘊𝘏𝘈𝘙𝘋, 2019 – en cours). L’artiste parlera également de ses récents livres 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 (2021) et 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 (2022), tout autant que plusieurs projets multidisciplinaires sous le thème de l’écologie.

Toronto-based artist Diane Borsato will discuss a series of her recent projects in which she worked closely with other artists and amateur naturalists, including co-ordinating a day-long foraging and stargazing event for amateur mushroomers and astronomers (𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭/𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭, 2010), creating a performance of silence and stillness with 100 beekeepers (𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘛𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳, 𝘔𝘺 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 2013), and planting a rare community apple orchard as public art (𝘖𝘙𝘊𝘏𝘈𝘙𝘋, 2019 – ongoing). The artist will also talk about her recent books 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 (2021) and 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 (2022), among several other multidisciplinary and environmentally themed projects.

Diane Borsato est une artiste primée, une écrivaine et une éducatrice qui a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec d’autres artistes et des naturalistes amateur·trice·s. Elle s’est produite et a exposé à travers le Canada dans des lieux tels que l’Art Gallery of Ontario, The Power Plant, AGYU, le Art Museum de l’Université de Toronto, la Walter Philips Gallery au Banff Centre for the Arts, l’Esker Foundation, la Vancouver Art Gallery, le Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, le National Art Centre, le Fogo Island Arts et la Toronto Biennial of Art, de même qu’à l’international dans des galeries et des musées aux États-Unis, au Mexique, en Australie, en France, en Allemagne, en Islande et au Japon, entre autres.
